Talent show: Southlake Carroll vs. Irving MacArthur

vs.

6 p.m. Saturday, Texas Stadium

MacArthur has one of the state's top linebacker tandems in Oklahoma State recruits Justin Gent and Jeff Bereuter. That might not matter against the state's most explosive and talented offense. QB Greg McElroy (Texas Tech) is on pace to shatter ex-Carroll QB Chase Wasson's 5A record of 54 touchdown passes if Carroll makes its customary run to the state final. His favorite target is BYU recruit McKay Jacobson (928 yards, 11 TDs), the leader of perhaps the deepest receiving corps in the area's history.
